AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE AND ANNOUNCEMENT

Dear Salinian families and friends,

It is with contrite hearts that we come before you Lord. We would like to thank you for the many blessings that you have afforded us in our lives, especially for your mercy in allowing the scientists to discover the COVID-19 vaccine. Father, we thank you for everyone who has already gotten the vaccine and we pray for those individuals who are scared or hesitant to receive it.

The year 2020 was an “annus horribilis” (horrible year). A year that was filled with sorrow and grief; but Lord, thank you for each and everyone of our family members and friends that survived these painful months.  For those who we have lost, we are comforted by knowing that they are in paradise with you. May they continue to Rest in Eternal Peace.

Mama Mary, we may not be there yet, but we can see the horizon on which we will be getting our lives back to normal.

We look forward to the time when we can meet in person again, to celebrate the Grand Fiesta and Caracol of our Blessed Mother “Nuestra Senora Del Rosario Reina De Caracol “Although we may not be able to celebrate the  fiesta again this year, we celebrate you in our hearts daily and through the praying of the rosary. Thank you for never forsaking us.

A small step in our return to normalcy will be the in person celebration of the 60th Annual Fiesta Holy Mass at Saint Charles Catholic Church, 990 Saturn Blvd San Diego, CA on Saturday May 29, 2021 at 7:00pm PT.  We may not be able to have a  group larger than 200 participants, but it is a start.

If you would like to join us in person for this endeavor please contact Secretary Grace Manalo or send her a direct message to reserve your place. Seats are limited  inside the church and are available on a pre-reservation basis only in the following order and reservation deadline.

***PLEASE DO NOT CALL SAINT CHARLES DIRECTLY TO MAKE SEAT RESERVATION***

 1. Salinas Association Officers and  family members - May 15, 2021
 2. Salinas Association members, family and friends - May 22, 2021

Once the maximum reservations of 200 participants are filled, you may still attend the mass without reservations and listen to the mass on the radio at FM2 106.9 while sitting inside your car in the church parking lot. You may go inside the church to receive Holy Communion only.

The Holy Mass will also be available via FB Live stream in the Salinas Association group page and will be broadcast simultaneously.

There will be no flower offering or ALAY  before the mass and there will be no procession after the mass. However, the priest will bless the image of Mama Mary before the start of the mass.

The following rules must be adhered to at all times while inside the church:
 1. You must wear your mask at all times.
 2. Maintain and keep social distance.
 3. Follow the church ushers directions.
 4. Limit your movements inside the church.

A pre-packaged light snack and refreshment will be provided by Salinas Association after the mass. Please do not congregate to eat it outside the Church.

God speed as we continue to lift our families and friends up in prayer.

Sincerely,

2021 Salinas Executive Officers
Salinas Association of San Diego Ca Inc.

August 22, 2020

Dear Fellow Salinians and Friends,

In the wake of this crippling pandemic we are still struggling to achieve a sense of normalcy.

The Executive Officers of the Salinas Association of San Diego, Ca Inc., held a virtual meeting today to determine the future path that the association will take while still under the grip of COVID-19.

The following important topics were discussed and decisions were made:

It was suggested  by the majority that the current President, Nhel Conde,  remain in office as President for the coming 60th Annual Town Fiesta 2020-2021. The Executive Officers approved the nomination; Nhel Conde accepted and it was ratified that she will continue as President.

It was our hope that we would be able to have the 59th Fiesta celebration later in the year. However, with the pandemic still raging, we realized that it would be impossible and irresponsible to even entertain the idea of having a 59th Annual Town Fiesta celebration.

Virtually we prayed the nine consecutive weekly novenas, celebrated the Holy Mass and danced the Caracol on May 24, 2020.

In today’s virtual meeting it was agreed by the Executive Officers that the actual 59th Fiesta celebration which was postponed  previously has now been cancelled based on the current COVID19 situation. Should we be fortunate enough to have a Town Fiesta celebration in May, 2021, it was decided to fuse the 59th and 60th Fiesta together to appease anyone who may feel that the 59th Fiesta was not celebrated.

The President decided to combine the colors for the 60th Fiesta. The colors  will be blue and white. The blue will represent the 59th Fiesta and the white will represent the 60th Fiesta, should there have been a 60th stand alone celebration.

Since we are unable to meet in large groups and had to set aside casino bus trips and other in person fundraising activities; it has been agreed upon that effective today, all Association donations, including but not limited to, the annual Salinas Scholarship Fund and the annual donation to Santa Rosario Parish in Rosario Cavite, Philippines will be suspended until further notice. Should any member choose to make a voluntary donation to either of these causes, please contact Velen Pareja the Association’s Treasurer for further instructions.

May the grace and mercy of our Heavenly Father, the wisdom of the Holy Spirit and the blessings of our Mama Mary be with us always.

Let us continue to pray for a cure for and extinction of the Coronavirus!

Respectfully yours,

President Nhel Conde
Executive Officers
Salinas Association of San Diego Ca Inc.

Thank you to all those who viewed the live streaming of the Holy Mass in honor of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary 59th Fiesta from Rosario, Cavite, Philippines on May 24th and in the United States on May 23rd.

We would also like to express a very special thank you to Reverend Father Alain Manalo who so graciously accepted and accomadated our request of celebrating the mass.

A heartfelt thanks to the Most Holy Rosary Parish Church in Rosario, Cavite for affording us the opportunity of having the Holy Mass there.

The mass culminated the end of our 59th Annual Fiesta season, in honor of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary, until further notice.

We are all one family in Christ Jesus. Therefore, let us continue to pray for each other unceasingly in the privacy of our own confines.

COVID-19 has changed the existence of the entire world’s behavior.  What was normal before is not normal anymore. We now struggle with the many rules and restrictions imposed upon us for our own safety.

Let us not be wary but turn to God asking for his mercy to sustain us.

We will continue to lift up each and every officer, member, family and friends of the Salinas Association of San Diego CA, Inc. in our daily prayer and wait patiently for the time when we will be able to gather again to celebrate the Fiesta in honor of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary.

Do not be afraid for God is with us!
